Decorative floor lamps: materials and finishes
Compare material evidence and finish samples alongside the lighting requirement.
Luxury is not a material specification. Identify the actual surfaces, construction and light configuration behind a decorative floor-lamp offer, then compare representative samples with the room and furniture.
Metal and surface treatments
Ask which parts are metal and how the surfaces are finished. Distinguish the underlying material from coating, plating or colour descriptions. If a particular material or process matters, request a documented description rather than inferring it from appearance.
Review colour, texture and visible joins using an agreed sample method. Gold-coloured or silver-coloured wording does not establish the use of a precious metal.
Fabric, glass and decorative shades
Request the shade material, dimensions and assembly details. Review the selected shade with the offered light source. Ask how replacements and cleaning are handled, and which components are supplied together.
Any named crystal brand, handmade process or special provenance needs its own evidence. Such descriptions should not be treated as confirmed features of current BILLLED products.
Room composition and light
Check scale beside seating, tables and other furniture. Review the lamp from normal viewing positions and decide whether it provides atmosphere, a reading task or wider room light. Compare the offered distribution and controls with that role.
Traditional, modern and mixed interiors may use different surface combinations. For a more general room brief, see floor-lamp design and placement. Added colour-changing or connected functions need separate checks in the controls guide.
Care and approval records
Ask for care instructions for every selected surface, plus assembly and service arrangements. Keep finish references, configuration and approved sample records together. Changes in material or optical parts should be reviewed against that approval.
Use supplier-selection questions for supporting documents and confirm the requested decorative or custom supply scope.
